Rehearsal Dinner Breakdown

We focus a lot on the ins and outs, ups and downs, and process that goes into planning a wedding. In the business of creating such a magical day, we also tackle the events that go along with the wedding itself. That’s right, we’re talking about the rehearsal dinner! And you thought you were just going to get away with planning one event?

The rehearsal dinner is traditional step towards your big day. It is typically scheduled for 1-2 days before the wedding. This more intimate gathering offers an opportunity for the two families to spend time together on a smaller scale. There is a great deal of flexibility for the dinner and can be formal or more casual. The beauty of this event is it allows some additional creativity and reserve personal touches that may not have made it into the wedding.

Your theme can reflect the wedding or hold its own modern charm. It truly is all up to you! Send out the invites along with the wedding invitations or within a short time after.

The rehearsal dinner acts as a productive recap and reminder session to your bridal party and guests. We recommend to extend the invitation to immediate family, your respective bridesmaids and groomsmen, the officiant and their spouse, and any other guests you feel can benefit and appreciate this smaller celebration. Give any gifts you have to your wedding party. This is also an important time to call the attention to anyone assisting in the wedding day itself. Go over timelines, vendors, and deliveries that your wedding planner is not already taking care of.

Your rehearsal dinner is a fun night! Two families are united before it all becomes official. The wedding day can often become a little chaotic and pull you in different directions. It is a great time to go over any last minute details and thank everyone for all their help. Unsure how you want to plan the dinner? Your wedding planner will offer some insight and assistance with coordinating the evening.

Until next time, happy planning!
